Welcome to the Introduction to Managing Soils and other Excavated Materials - Legislation and guidance in England and Wales (1st of April)

This webinar will examine a range of issues related to the management of soils and other excavation materials arising during development projects. The seminar will give an overview of current legislation and guidance, including consideration of when soil becomes a waste, the waste duty of care and environmental permitting. It will also consider how to minimise the environmental impacts of excavation waste and the regulatory options for its re-use.

On completion of the webinar, we expect that delegates will have gained a basic understanding of:

• How waste legislation and guidance impacts on development sites involving groundworks, earthworks and soil remediation;
• Duty of Care requirements placed on waste producers and waste holders; and
• Options available to enable the sustainable use of excavated materials on development sites, either as waste or non-waste.
