This webinar will look at the sources and health impacts of PM2.5, along with the
current policy and regulatory context around managing these emissions. It
will then focus in on smoke control areas and domestic burning, exploring how
you can create, vary and enforce SCAs, and look at measures to encourage
complaince and reduce domestic burning emissions.
Finally it will look at
managing others sources of PM2.5 such as transport, industry and construction
and indoor PM2.5.
The webinar will include:
- PM2.5 and public health - background on what PM is, key sources,
how formed and health impacts - include indoor
- Policy context - Env Act, new targets, requirements in LAQM, SCA
changes
- Domestic burning and SCAs - details of SCA
requirements/legislation, creating, reviewing and updating SCAs,
consultation, modelling and assessment, measures to reduce emissions,
include bonfires and BBQs, canal boats
