Information relating to the training package, its key elements, requirements and means of certification.

Understanding of the:

• LA’s legal responsibilities including the context of the 2015 National Air Quality Plans
• Review and assessment
• Taking cost effective action where necessary
• Monitoring and reporting progress
• Maintaining and communicating information.

This session will focus extensively on the current Technical and Policy Guidance (TG16)

An introduction to:

• Ensuring the cost effectiveness and feasibility (of action planning), appraisal and funding
• Government principles and appraisal techniques
• Local Transport Plan targets

An understanding of:

• Setting AQM local targets
• Allocating roles and responsibilities, in light of TG(16)
• Monitoring progress
• Refining strategy
• Communication AQ information

An insight into stakeholder consultation in the development of AQAPs:

• Legislative requirements
• Benefits of the consultation process 
• Stakeholder involvement
• Good practice in consultation

Information on how best to present AQ data in:

• Passive form (via reports etc)
• Active information systems (Internet based systems)

The LAQM 5 Knowledge Check will enable you to review your understanding of the course material from the 6 sessions across LAQM 5 

Participants will have three attempts at the Knowledge Check and a score of 75% is required to pass.
